Our Prefabricated Steel and Metal Buildings Process

Since every prefabricated metal or steel building serves a different purpose, it’s important to understand and design a building that meets your specific needs. We walk you through with every step of our process so that there are no hidden surprises.

Consultation

First, we sit down with you to get a better understanding of your goals and what exactly you need. We will also discuss your budget, the different options we offer, different services that will be part of the construction process, and laws and regulations that are required. This is also the perfect time to answer any questions you may have. Once we understand what you need, we move forward to the design stage.

Design

Since we understand what the building is for, our team of experts will design the layout. We can also choose the recommended exterior finishing based on your budget, location, and look at what you are trying to achieve. We will then show you the design where you can give us feedback. We will make the adjustments you request until you are 100% satisfied with the design.

Preparation

At this stage, we start to plan out and create a timeline for your project. From excavating, the shipment of materials, erecting the steel-building, interior development to exterior finishing. This helps us stay organized and on time to meet any deadlines. We also get the necessary permits that may be required and contact our suppliers and contractors to also prepare for the project.

Installation

This is where we start to put your vision to life. Our team of skilled crewmen, contractors, supervisors, and suppliers work efficiently to ensure that the project is done on time. This is where our excavating, erecting and interior development services are all taken place during the project timeline.

Helms Construction offers many different structures and roofing options to help meet your needs. As trusted experts in the industrial construction, these are the options that serve past and current clients the best.

Structure Options

We help guide you in choosing the best structure option for you. There are two different structure options that we offer.

Clear Span Structures

Clear Span Structures are welded, rigid frames that span the entire width of a building. Each is individually designed and constructed without interior columns, leaving the interior open with no sight obstructions. We can design Clear Span Structures over 300 feet.

Multi-Span Structures

Multi-Span Structures are also individually designed, welded rigid frames that use interior columns to support the trusses throughout the width of a building.

Roofing Options

Roofing options are another crucial part of erecting your steel building. The four roofing options that we offer are Standing Seam Metal Roof (RTL24), Storm Seal and Versa Seal.

Standing Seam Metal Roof (RTL24)

The RTL Standing Metal Roof system is unique in that it features a “tilt and lock together” panel, which provides a watertight seal. This is possible because there are no fasteners that pass through the roof material. Instead, floating chips are utilized to allow for expansion and contraction of roof panels during temperature changes.

Storm Seal

Storm Seal roofing and siding panels are deep rib panels designed to provide an economical solution for buildings with wide purlin and girt spacing. Storm Seal panels are constructed from light gauge steel and can support large snow and windloads.

Versa Seal

Economical and visually attractive, Versa Seal is a versatile, low rib roof, wall and liner panel that performs well in commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential structures.
